Streaming Colombia’s science and education

Since 2008 the Live RENATA streaming service has amplified Colombia’s research and education by transmitting thousands of hours of knowledge to a growing number of national and international Internet users, creating new opportunities for learning and discovery. As well as academia, this service is also used by government institutions to present policies and strategies.

Connecting 40.000 university students

Meet Emmanuel Togo, the mastermind behind delivering wireless connectivity to 40.000 students at the University of Ghana. Creating easy wireless connectivity for everybody on campus improves the quality of education, speeds up communication and makes it easier to access digital resources both on and off campus.

Sharing knowledge to strengthen emerging networks

Helina Emeru is chief technology officer of Ethiopian research and education network EthERnet. In October 2016, she joined 9 colleagues from around the world at the NORDUnet conference as part of a new Knowledge Exchange Fellowship program.

Improving IT services for uni students in Samoa

40 switches and a server were recently taken into service at the National University of Samoa, expanding and strengthening the university’s ICT network considerably. The equipment has been funded and supported by the Network Startup Resource Centre.
